Guide - The Best of Park City
Snow Tubing

Tubing in Park City

Tubing distills winter joy to its simplest form—slide down a snowy hill, get pulled back up, repeat. No lessons required, no equipment to master, no technique to perfect. The result is accessible fun for visitors regardless of athletic ability or prior winter sports experience. It's a highlight of any family-friendly Park City visit.

Where to Go

Woodward Park City offers tubing alongside its other winter activities. It has revamped its tubing hill with a new magic carpet and added sliding lanes, making it the perfect family-friendly adventure.

Utah Olympic Park provides extreme tubing down steeper, faster lanes for those seeking more intensity. Reaching speeds up to 50 mph, tubing at the UOP has more restrictions than other nearby hills.

The Toyota Tubing Hill is located about 25 minutes from Park City at Solider Hollow. With 1,200 foot sliding lanes it boasts some of the longest tubing runs in Utah.

What to ask about: Session lengths and reservation requirements. Peak periods often require advance booking.

Local Insight: Go on a weekday morning if possible—the lanes are less crowded and you'll get more runs in your session. Woodward's location between Park City and Salt Lake makes it easy to combine with airport arrivals or departures.

What to Expect

Tubing facilities provide all equipment—tubes, and in some cases helmets for faster lanes. Wear warm, waterproof clothing; you'll be sitting in snow and potentially tumbling at the bottom of runs.

Sessions typically run 1-2 hours, with unlimited runs during your time slot. The magic carpet lift systems make the experience virtually effortless between runs.

Local Insight: Due to all the rolling around in snow, dress little ones in one-piece winter suits vs. two-piece outfits. They will stay warmer and dryer, and ultimately have a much better experience.

Age and Size Considerations

Facilities set minimum ages and heights for various lanes. Younger children can ride with adults on many lanes, while more extreme runs restrict participants by age and size. Confirm requirements when booking if traveling with children.

For another no-experience-required winter activity, ice skating offers hours of endless fun. In summer, zip lines and coasters provide similar thrills without the snow.
