Best of Park City (bestofparkcity.com) is owned and operated by TownLift News, LLC. "Best of Park City" is a registered assumed name (DBA) of TownLift News, LLC, filed with the Utah Division of Corporations and Commercial Code, entity number 13554229-0151.

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean TownLift News, LLC doing business as Best of Park City. This policy applies to bestofparkcity.com. TownLift's own site, townlift.com, is covered by the same practices described here.

By using this site you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways.

Information you give us. When you plan a trip, save a guide, vote in our community rankings, suggest a question, subscribe to a newsletter, or create a business account, you give us information directly. Depending on what you do, that can include your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, travel preferences, and the business details you enter about a listing you manage.

Information from signing in with Google. If you choose "Continue with Google", Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture. We use it only to create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not read your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts.

Information from connecting a Google Business Profile. If you connect a Google Business Profile to verify that you manage a business, we read the list of business locations you manage — their names, addresses and Google verification status — so we can match them to listings on this site. We use that access once, at the moment you connect. We never write to your Google Business Profile, and we do not store a Google access or refresh token afterwards. You can disconnect at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we record log data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and time spent, along with which outbound links you click, so we know which recommendations are useful.

How we use your information

We use the information to:

  • provide the trip guides, rankings and business listings the site exists to deliver
  • identify you when you return, and keep your account secure
  • verify that a person claiming a business listing is entitled to manage it
  • respond when you contact us
  • send the guide you asked for, and — only if you opted in — occasional email about Park City
  • understand which content is worth producing more of

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies for session identification (keeping you signed in), for functionality, and for measurement. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate.

You can refuse cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the site — signing in, saving a guide, voting — will not work without them.

Advertising

We may use Google and Meta remarketing services to show our own content to people who have visited this site. You can opt out through Google Ads Settings and Meta's ad preferences.

Service providers

We use third-party providers to run the site — hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing and analytics. They may handle your information in order to perform those tasks on our behalf, and are obliged not to use it for anything else.

Payments for featured business listings are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number.

How we share information

We share information only:

  • with the service providers described above
  • when you publish something yourself — a vote, a nomination or a business listing is intended to be seen publicly
  • when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public

Community votes are published as counts and rankings. Your email address is never shown alongside your vote.

Security

We protect information in transit and at rest using encryption where applicable, and access to personal data is limited to what running the site requires. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

  • Email — every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can email us to be removed.
  • Your account — you can view and change your details at bestofparkcity.com/dashboard/account.
  • Your Google connection — disconnect at any time via your Google Account permissions.
  • Deletion — email us and we will delete your account and personal information, except where we are required to keep records.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept them.
