Backcountry Snowmobiling
Snowmobile Tours on a 40,000 acre private ranch are provided by the most experienced guides on the least crowded snowmobile terrain in northern Utah. We don't just take you to a field to ride snowmobiles around in circles, our snowmobiling tours venture through a vast expanse of terrain through snow capped peaks and powder fields of the Uinta mountains. You will have the opportunity to see wildlife, majestic vistas and the stunning mountain ranges surrounding the Park City area.

A must try and not far from Park City! Everything was smooth from the booking process to renting the gear we didn’t have. The views were incredible and we even saw some wildlife with a Moose wandering near the trail. The tour was a great pace and tons of fun with some free time to really open it up in some meadows. Thank you Backcountry Snowmobiling for a wonderful experience…and Dan is the man!
What a great experience for our family! We scheduled a 3 hour tour. The scenery was beautiful... truly amazing... peaceful. Our 3 hours did not feel rushed. And the conditions near the peak of our tour allowed us to drive the snowmobiles in large fields of deep powder. The Backcountry team was simply great. Professional. Friendly. Safe. The equipment was good. We highly recommend Backcountry Snowmobiling.
We were a little worried that there wasn’t going to be enough snow, but it ended up just fine with plenty up on the trails… Had the best time out with Connor yesterday! Connor was great at showing us newbies the ropes, and giving us options to customize the private tour for what we were looking for. Plus, he was a great photographer AND found us a Moose!
Had a great time up on the mountain! The guides and team at the ranch were absolute chillers and were very helpful. Me and my 3 other friends each got our own snowmobile (Would definitely recommend getting your own snowmobile besides sharing one, makes it a lot more fun and gives you a bit more freedom.) We met up at the ranch just off the road, where you can go inside and rent snow pants, snow jackets, boots, gloves, goggles, and a helmet. All were very cheap and affordable rentals. Would for sure recommend getting/bringing good pants that will keep the snow out. Once you get up that mountain and stop to look around, that snow can get pretty deep! (2-3 feet when we went - Jan 16th, 2026). They (our two guides) took us (my 3 buddies and 4 other people) up the mountains (their private ranch and leased land from what I understand) and showed us around. The views pretty amazing and we stopped a few times to take pictures and play around in the snow. They make learning to ride and steer the snowmobile easy and to be honest, you'll get the hang of it pretty quick. We booked the 3 hour tour, so we had time to play around in this big meadow field near the end of our tour. It was pretty fun being able to ride and whip around the snowmobile, though I would recommend exercising caution. Our guides briefed us on safety precautions and good measures for using the snowmobiles on our own beforehand. They kept watch over us and gave us recommendations, critique, and compliments on our snowmobile riding, which we all appreciated. It felt like 30 minutes to go from the big meadow field back to the ranch (base camp if you will) off the road. We returned our gear, paid for the tour, and tipped our guides! They have candy bars and a small assortment of drinks (spirte, coke, dr pepper, and free water) for refreshments. They have outhouses just outside in case you need to use the bathroom - they were also cool with us finding a place to take a leak in the woods when we made stops on the mountain. Overall, a super fun experience! Would for sure recommend for anyone visiting park city or the area, looking to see some amazing views, learning to snowmobile and enjoying the thrill of riding, and/or just some fun! Amazing time, will be back!
had a great playful time in the snow with Dan and Rat. took the 3 hour tour which gave us the perfect time to reach good heights, have time to play and explore.
