We had the absolute best experience with Mike Byrne as our private ski coach at Deer Valley. From day one, he exceeded every expectation. He worked with me and my two daughters, ages 8 and 10, all at different beginner levels, and somehow managed to coach each of us perfectly. That alone speaks to his skill and patience. We did three half-days of private lessons, and every single day we saw real progress. Mike had an incredible ability to meet each of us where we were, while still challenging us in a way that built confidence. He provided thoughtful options each day, introduced us to new terrain, and made the entire experience feel exciting and achievable. What truly sets Mike apart is his positivity and encouragement. He is phenomenal with children, engaging, patient, and fun and played such a meaningful role in my daughters’ confidence and love for skiing. They looked forward to every lesson and missed him after we concluded our last day. Beyond skiing, Mike went above and beyond by sharing recommendations and helping us make the most of our time in Deer Valley. His care and attention made our entire trip better, not just our time on the slopes. We cannot recommend Mike highly enough for private lessons, no matter your age or skill level. He is simply exceptional.
Had a fantastic experience learning from Jon Newby. Great instructor, will try different ways for you to get technique right . He can easily teach adults who are skiing for first time . I would recommend using him for private lesson .
Absolutely PHENOMENAL. Very first time skiing and the instructor Alysse was fantastic; she was super patient and professional, and did a great job of taking care of my group’s lesson. 10/10!
Went into the day as a brand new skier and tried to learn with my husband, but ultimately decided a lesson would be best. So so glad I did!! I did the flex hour option and Chris P. was a heaven send. He was patient and very knowledgeable, adjusting wording and the lesson as needed to give me confidence and the skills to get down the slopes! Thanks for giving this D3 athlete a shot, Chris!

This ski resort excels in comfort and safety, making it a top choice for ski enthusiasts. My children began their skiing journey here at the age of three, and the ski school’s influence has been remarkable. Now, they ski with confidence, skill, and control on virtually any mountain terrain. The instructors at Deer Valley Ski School are truly outstanding – they’re not only highly professional and attentive but also ensure optimal class sizes for both safety and enjoyment. The school is fantastic for learners of all ages, from children to adults. I wholeheartedly recommend Deer Valley Ski School. Plus, it’s set in some of the most breathtaking landscapes on the planet.
