We did a food tour with Katie last week on our girls' trip to Park City. This was a really fun experience that all nine of us enjoyed. We met at the Treasure Mountain Inn. Katie was our guide. She was great, although about 10minutes late at the start. She was very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with a lot of interesting facts. She also took some awesome pictures of our group throughout the tour. We began at Tekila which was the favorite stop for some. Katie ordered guacamole and chicken enchiladas for the table. The food was included in the price of the tour, but drinks were not....and drinks are quite expensive in Park City so plan accordingly. Everyone agreed that the guacamole was super fresh and delicious. We were surprised to each receive one whole enchilada and that was very good, as well. Tekila was a really cute place, too. Our second stop was 350 Main and was my favorite of the tour. This was a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous tile ceiling, decorative lighting, and a wine cellar. We again ordered a round of drinks on our own dime, and they were well worth it. The food Katie ordered here was absolutely delicious and also unique. We had the Crispy Cauliflower, which was spicy and incredibly flavorful, Chicharron Crusted Spaghetti Squash that was delicious (but did not care for the pork belly..too fatty), and the last dish was some sort of pasta that everyone enjoyed. We took a few pictures along the way and Katie was always telling us fun little facts and bits of history. Our last stop, and least favorite was Pine Cone Ridge. I think there was some sort of issue here. Katie did a good job concealing it but a few of us picked up on it. I think due to the late start and perhaps taking longer at the second stop than expected, the restaurant was not happy upon our arrival. I could see a somewhat stressed exchange happening and I could hear bits and pieces basically that they had a lot of large groups with reservations and needed our table. Apparently, they called someone and got it worked out because we were seated very quickly after that. But this was not as enjoyable an experience as the other places. Clearly, the food items had been ordered before we were seated. Katie had been checking in for allergies and aversions and adjusting our orders as needed. That did not happen here. Food was placed on the table almost as soon as we sat down and long before drinks came. We were given clams which I believe only 2 out of 9 ate and so we sent them home with Katie to avoid wasting. We were also given ribs which about half of us do not eat. The third item was a brie served with cranberry toast and this was quite good. The servers tried to remove our plates before we were done eating. We felt like our checks were thrown at us. It was clear they were in haste to turn this table over. Katie also seemed to be ready to conclude. As soon as the to go bags were brought, she was out the door and only said goodbye to the ladies sitting at her end of the table. As a result, this was by far our least favored stop of the tour which we were surprised at because Katie had earlier told us the best was saved for last. I do not think any of us ever care to go there again. Aside from the last stop, the tour was great and I would love to do it again if ever back in the area.... but visit different stops next time:) I took one star off for the last restaurant. If the third place had been half as good an experience as the first two, this is easily a five-star tour. Make sure to come hungry!
