We've had the pleasure of working with Klima Architecture & Chris Price for the past 4 years. As the owner of Après build, a passive house certified custom home builder & general contractor, I was originally drawn to Klima as they were one of the few passive house certified architects in the state. We own a parcel of land in Summit Park, UT we wanted to develop for our primary residence & wanted Klima to support us with the designs. That was around the same time Jake Cusick started with the firm. The schematic drawings they came up with for that project were visionary! In an interesting turn of events, we stumbled into buying a 100 year old property on the creek inside Little Cottonwood Canyon! My spouse & I had a lifelong goal of living in LCC, so we reached out to Chris & informed him we wanted to table the Summit Park project & instead start designing a demo / rebuild project in LCC (aka "Après Haus"). Chris & Jake were happy to change gears with us. It was an arduous process working with SLC Watershed department & FCOZ, but we managed to get the project permitted & started! It's been an awesome experience working with Klima as a client, but also building our b2b relationship along the way! Since meeting Chris, our team at Après Build worked on Chris' personal residence (aka "Powdr Haus") installing a triple-pane window package & weather sealing. We also are in the process of general contracting an addition for the new owners of one of Chris' spec projects (aka "Maple Haus"). In addition to being an exceptional architect, Chris is also an awesome human in that he listens to feedback from others & is open to growth. I would recommend Klima to any clients looking for an architect around Park City, UT, Salt Lake City, UT or beyond!

I have been fortunate enough to work with Klima Architects since 2016 when we started our first project together, with my firm being the Builder. Since those early days we’ve completed 6 highly successful projects as a team. Chris is best described as having a level of enthusiasm that is simply contagious. Clients appreciate his keen eye for detail, as well as just being a joy to work with! In a reasonably short amount of time, Klima has designed ,and managed through to completion ,some absolutely incredible homes.
It's said that we are all a combination of--what we believe to be--the best characteristics of the five people we spend the most time with. Your one friend is particularly generous, so you try to have that generosity. Your other friend is especially timely, so you hope to take that and always be on time. Another friend is a good cook, so you replace your coconut oil with avocado oil because you once saw it in their pantry. I have a dream. A dream to one day find a morsel of wooded land upon which to have built the most astounding and sustainable home I can conjure. Or more correctly, that Klima can conjure. To have it designed in the vein of exactly no one, but tastefully combining the best features of other buildings in a cohesive way. When that land is found, Klima, above all of its competitors in lands near and far, will be my architect of choice. And I'm awfully picky about things. I'm not sure which of my five closest friends I get that from.
