We used to bring our cars to Mercer and really liked using them a few years ago. When we brought my older car in a little over a week ago for a battery issue and check engine lights, the office staff was initially nice. However, the rest of the experience was disappointing. They looked at the car later than promised, and on pickup day, the employee handing over the keys was literally running out the door with his backpack on while like his own car was running… Shortly after my dad and brother picked it up to drive it back down to me, the car overheated, and shut down leaving my brother on the side of the road. After spending over $2,500 on repairs, it turned out they hadn't refilled my coolant tank. When we brought this to their attention today, instead of taking responsibility (a simple apology and check-over would have resolved things) they tried to claim the car somehow lost a full gallon of coolant through the radiator cap with zero evidence of any leaks in the engine bay. To make matters worse, they then asked for more money to fix it. It’s disappointing to see this lack of accountability from a local shop we used to trust. Mistakes happen, but denying them and shifting blame isn't how you handle customer service. We won't be returning.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent service experience I had at this establishment yesterday, August 19, 2025. I brought my car in to investigate a disturbing noise, and while your front desk staff was pleasant, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. When I dropped off my car, I was informed that I would receive a call with an estimate within two hours. Unfortunately, I did not hear back after four hours and had to call to inquire about the status. I was then told that my car had not yet been looked at, which was frustrating as I would have appreciated having accurate expectations set at the time of drop-off. Two hours later, after still not hearing from you, I called again and was placed on hold for 25 minutes. I eventually decided to come to the shop in person. Upon my arrival, my car was finally being inspected by a mechanic. I was subsequently provided with a diagnosis and an estimate that was $250.00 higher than a quote I received from Burt Brothers. When I informed the staff that I would be choosing the more affordable option, I was told there would be a $55.00 charge for the inspection. However, when I picked up my car, the "inspection price" had increased to $67.00 due to taxes and such. This additional charge, and the fact that it was not communicated upfront, added to my frustration. I believe there's a need for improved communication regarding wait times and all potential charges, including taxes, to ensure a more transparent and positive customer experience.

They did a great job replacing my caliper. Ive had a problem with it for a long time and havent been able to get it fixed at a few other shops who keep getting the wrong or broken part. Only problem i had was whoever did the test drive knocked over my tea kettle and box of glass bottle tinctures and it got water all over my floor. They either didnt notice or just left it there. Mercer apologized for this and made it right and i appreciate that. Very professional.
