Mountain Town Music used to be great when they did the concerts on Wednesdays at the Snow Park amphitheater. Maybe it’s because of the huge attendance, there were so many more people that would ‘chuck a buck’, so they could afford better musicians. The Silver Lake concerts the last couple of years are terrible. Three days in a row of nothing but country, bluegrass and Americana. They used to mix it up and get rock, reggae, alternative, singer/songwriter, pop, R&B/Soul/Funk, etc. Not anymore! It really sucks… I waited a while to write this review to see if it would get any better…sadly it has not! The musicians are not nearly as good and the variety is beyond terrible! They need to go back to doing their Wednesday concerts at Snow Park and getting more people so they can get more people chucking a buck. With more money, they can pay for better musicians, not to mention avariety of different types of music! Maybe the only musicians that Mountain Town can anfford now are the country, bluegrass, Americana. In the past at Snow Park it was ALL about the community… Now it’s only about tourists staying in the hotels nearby. When it was at Snow Park, which is a much bigger venue, the Local community would all go and everyone would dance and have a great time to the great variety of music they had! I know, Mountain Town Music said Deer Valley messed it all up when they no longer allowed people to bring their own alcohol and people boycotted one year. Obviously, people are used to now having to purchase their alcohol from Deer Valley because we’ve had to do it for a while now. And yes, I agree Deer Valley, who promised they were not going to change anything, obviously lied and totally ruined this wonderful community event that brought all the locals together! Mountain town music please work with Deer Valley to bring back the Snow Park Music! And please, mix up the music variety! If you have 12 weeks of music at Snow Park, how about 2 Rock, 2 Alternative, 2 Reggae, 2 country/americana/bluegrass, 2 singer/songwriter, 2 R&B/Disco/Soul/Funk Dance Music! We want MUCH MORE DIVERSITY AND QUALITY!!!

Mountain Town Music is the BEST live music organization in all of Utah. The music is outstanding, location is fabulous, and it is family friendly. Kids of all ages bring bikes and scooters to stay entertained on the outskirts of outdoor venues. Newpark, The Canyons, and Deer Valley are where your summers should be spent. Free music in the majestic Park City mountains?? Who can resist that?! Hula hoops, picnics, blankets and chairs, dogs, kids, and yes....even alcohol is permitted. JUST GO.
