We absolutely loved the museum! We took our three kids, 7, 5 and 1 and there were so many interactive exhibits. There was plenty for us to look at too from geodes, to fossils and replicas, ancient local Native American artifacts, etc. We visited the rotating exhibition, which was Bug World and had a lot of fun interacting with the larger than life replicas and games. I highly recommend visiting. We were able to have some of our admissions free with the rewards from the county library reading challenge. I hope it's an annual reward, even so, the museum is worth the fee!

I love that they have seasonal exhibits, so we never get bored of coming here. My son would love to come every week! He loves dinosaurs, and we could stay here all day. This time they have the Bugs exhibit and we all loved it. It es very interactive for kids and adults. We love every part of NHMU!

I was absolutely impressed, surprised, and in love with this museum. At the foothills to the mountains on the outskirts of town the museum is housed in an exquisitely designed architecture. With 5 floors of interactive and visually stimulating historical displays. Take your kids or go by yourself as there is plenty to do for both. Very clean space. And the layout moves you through the venue so even when there are alot of people it doesn't seem cramped or congested. Definitely one of the highlights of Salt Lake City.

This was my first visit here. It was amazing. There are so many interactive and hands on exhibits that made it fun for adults and kids alike. The dinosaur exhibits are truly spectacular, featuring some incredible fossils including some of new discoveries. Seeing these ancient giants up close really puts things in perspective. Walking through the museum feels like stepping back in time. There are several places with glass floors in the dinosaur exhibit, where you walk right over dig sites. Walking over fossils beneath your feet is such a unique experience. There is also a dig site you can enter, that gives you a little experience of what it was like. This leads into the Great Salt Lake, The Land, and First Peoples section, with so many wonderful examples of pottery and ancient artifacts. Again there are hands on experiences, like trying to reconstruct shattered pots, with a magnetic jigsaw type exhibit. It was the bug exhibit that had first caught my attention, and was the next stop on my adventure. It was this that initially drew me here, and it sure didn't disappoint. It is just as amazing for adults, as it is for kids, although it has been designed with kids in mind. Absolutely, fascinating to be able to walk inside different pods, and see these creatures larger than life, up close and personal. So many hands on things to do here as well. Next comes and animals life section, and on top a circular room dedicated to native voices. Definitely don't miss this. The architecture is unique with the soaring Canyon atrium, and the towering glass Collections Wall. You can go outside on the upper levels for breathtaking views over the canyon. One thing I was disappointed in was the fact that I did not know they were hiking trails right by the museum. I will need to get back one day to accomplish those. Check out the Museum Store and also the little coffee shop. The coffee shop has meals and snacks. If you need a little break. Their prices are reasonable. The museum shop has a white range of items to appeal to everyone. With amazing exhibits, breathtaking views, and something new to discover around every corner, the Natural History Museum of Utah is a fantastic experience for both kids and adults. Highly recommended!
