We are so happy we found this place! Searching for a local shop to rent snow shoes in an area full of high end options and little personal experience, we were delighted to find a true local shop that could offer friendly expert advice. The shop owner, Dave happily shared his recommendation of where to go, rented us weather appropriate snowshoes, and gave us directions for an amazing hike! When we returned after an awesome trail experience we filled up on local smoked trout and house made jerky. This place is a gem! Don’t miss it!
I LOVE THE SAMAK SMOKEHOUSE! This store is the gateway to one of Utah’s most beautiful and serene destinations with endless outdoor adventures at your feet. Whether your starting or ending your time in the Unitas come by this store to get the yummiest made-in-house trail snacks, refuel with delicious smoked meat/cheese sandwiches, or re-energize yourself with the most scrumptious espresso/tea/matcha. What’s more? They’re stocked with all your camping essentials and tons of merchandise from locals in the area. Whether it’s a souvenir or a pre/post trail meal…you’re sure to find it here! You can snag your recreation passes from the amazing staff who know all about the area and love to share their knowledge. Will definitely be coming back!
The Samak Smokehouse is a MUST STOP if you’re on Mirror Lake HWY! They smoke everything in-house - cheese, fish, meat. Not only do they have wonderful customer service, a great selection of food (even some pre-packaged made in-house!) but you can get a sandwich made to order. They use the freshest stuff. They’re locals and this gives the best “small shop” vibe you could hope for. Be sure to pet Myrtle while you’re there 🐕
This was our favorite store on our trip. The girls were so incredibly sweet and kind to us. They have THE BEST SMOKED SALMON around. We got that, crackers, drinks and everything. This store and their happy energy made our camping trip. Plus they have sweatshirts, stickers, postcards, field guides. It is a must stop on your trip. Thank you girls for everything ❤️❤️
Found this place open today with the espresso machine on, nice people, helpful and let me show her how to make Australian version of a Piccolo (mini Cortardo) Have a smoke house off the side and lovely porch to drink your coffee on! Great experience
