Park City's proximity to a major international airport makes arrival straightforward. Salt Lake City International Airport serves as the gateway for most visitors, with ground transportation options ranging from private transfers to public transit. Understanding your choices allows efficient planning.

Salt Lake City International Airport

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) handles the vast majority of Park City arrivals. The recently renovated facility receives flights from major carriers serving destinations throughout North America and internationally. The airport sits approximately 35 miles from Park City, with drive times typically ranging from 35 to 50 minutes depending on traffic and weather conditions.

What to know: Winter weather can extend travel times significantly—build flexibility into connection timings during snow storms.

Local Insight:  Skip the rental car if you plan on staying in town—the free transit system covers most needs. However, if you want to explore Salt Lake, access trailheads, or hit multiple resorts, a vehicle adds significant flexibility.

What to ask about: Advance reservations for shuttles, particularly during peak travel periods and holidays.

Alternative Airports

Provo Airport (PVU) serves select destinations and sits approximately 45 minutes from Park City. Heber Valley Airport accommodates private aviation and is closer to town, at about 25 minutes away.

Getting Around Park City
