Shopping in Park City

Shopping in Park City

As Gertrude Stein once said, “Whoever said money can’t buy happiness didn’t know where to shop.” This quote definitely applies to Park City, where shops, boutiques, and retail stores can be found in various locations. The town’s shopping scene reflects its unique character—a mix of brands and styles suited to mountain life and western adventure.

Main Street

The heart of Park City shopping stretches along Main Street's historic buildings, many dating to the silver mining era. Galleries, clothing boutiques, jewelry stores, and specialty marts occupy storefronts that once housed saloons and mining company offices. Many of these shops have served the community for decades.

The Main Street experience is as much about strolling the historic district and window shopping then it is about acquiring a particular item. The architecture itself warrants attention—look for historic plaques explaining building histories as you browse.

What to look for: Store windows during holidays and festivals, when special displays add entertainment value to shopping excursions.

Local Insight: Main Street parking fills by mid-morning during ski season and peak summer days so the China Bridge garage, which is adjacent to Main Street, is an more accessible option. From there it’s a hop, skip, and a jump to Main, either by foot or the trolley. Don’t forget about the free transit system, with bus stops all around Park City and continual daily service to Main Street.
