Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever worked. Edustaff does not support or advocate for its employees. School staff can treat substitutes poorly, make false accusations, and Edustaff will often accept those claims without conducting a fair or thorough investigation. The company profits from the hard work of its employees and contracts with numerous schools, yet fails to stand behind the people generating that revenue. Employees deserve to be heard and treated fairly when concerns or allegations arise. The office staff is often unable to provide clear answers or meaningful assistance, making an already frustrating situation even worse. To top it off, many employees work full-time schedules but receive no meaningful benefits. If you’re looking for an employer that values, supports, and protects its workers, this is not it. Based on my experience, there is absolutely no reason to work for Edustaff.
Don't waste your time. Many changes since I started in 2018. That was then ... They don't cover the $70 fingerprinting---that's out of YOUR pocket.. redrover and frontline are a mess. So don't bother trying to sort the wasted jobs. Districts pulled away cos it all became a mess. And any time you call you get a sickly sweet agent rep who is far from helpful. They once used to be the signature educational staffing for freelancing and contractual needs. That's no longer the case.
An absolutely awful place to work. They offer no support for their subs and refuse to advocate for them. They just profit off our hard work. Schools and teachers complain that they are so short-staffed, but then will fire subs with no intermediary steps-warnings, suspensions, anything in-between. And Edustaff does nothing to keep us employed. HR is passive-aggressive and dismissive. Where is the union for subs?
I am writing this formal complaint to express my absolute outrage and to demand immediate accountability regarding the conduct of one of your employees. We have been formally notified that your employee engaged in predatory behavior toward middle school students. This individual physically touched and verbally assaulted minor children—actions that are not merely "inappropriate," but are criminal and predatory in nature. It is clear that your current vetting procedures are dangerously insufficient. A standard background check is a baseline, not a guarantee of safety. By failing to perform rigorous, source-based due diligence, you have placed vulnerable children in direct harm’s way. When an individual is comfortable enough to target multiple children, it suggests a pattern of behavior that should have been identified through more than a cursory records search. I am demanding a formal response regarding the following: Immediate Action: Confirmation of the immediate termination of this individual and their permanent removal from all school-related contracts. Protocol Review: A detailed explanation of how your company intends to overhaul its screening process to include direct source verification and behavioral history. Transparency: Confirmation that your company is cooperating fully with law enforcement and the school district's investigation. Your company was trusted to provide safe, professional personnel. You have failed in that duty. I expect a formal acknowledgment of this correspondence and a clear outline of the corrective actions you are taking to ensure this never happens to another child.
What a joke! I went back into the schools after retirement to see what was going on in education these days and witnessed many sad and unprofessional occurrences. At one point a small classroom of high school special ed. students told their teacher I was on the phone with my Mom the whole hour. The teacher's aide was 5 feet away from me when I had to take a call from my sick 89 year old mother from her retirement home who had a migraine and needed aspirin. I spoke briefly (5 minutes) with her nurse and it was all taken care of. The classroom aide never came forward to tell the truth about the fact that it wasn't just an hour long chit chat with my Mother. I received no support from Edustaff. Just fired. I don't even like phones and don't exactly use them unless I need to. I'm a retired preschool teacher and private practice therapist and went back to sub so I could report back to my friends and colleagues concerning all things education. At one school, I had to send a kid to the office for being completely disruptive. Edustaff just let me go because the school told them how upset the student was to go down there. What is wrong with these people? The kids were hardly ever a problem for me. It was Edustaff. They have such a bad reputation that keeps other retired teachers away. Sad. Well, it made for a lot of laughs and funny stories.
