Would not recommend trying to go to a stick n puck here. Everytime I have gone there is 100 kids skating around in the way and pulling all the nets to the side to do their own scrimmages. And if that’s not going on, then you have couching sessions being done during stick n puck that takes up most of the ice with cones and other things. Online it says no scrimmages or coaching allowed, but that is obviously not enforced and makes it a terrible experience if you’re above the age of 8. It would be one thing if they let that many people on the ice at once and kept it under control, but there is no open ice or nets to do anything unless you’re being coached or playing in a scrimmage with 6 year olds.
There is viewers seating for those who don't want to skate. We skated for 3 hours and midway through they cleared everyone off the ice and ran a zamboni to freshen the ice. It was New Years day and a little crowded.
I play ice hockey in another state regularly and have my own gear. While on vacation we (me and two preteens) decided to get away from the heat and come here. It was great. The price is right, the rental gear was in good shape, the ice was hard, and the public skate had much fewer people than we're used to. The downside here is that there aren't snacks available. There was a machine with snacks, but it doesn't work. The tease was almost worse because my kid thought he was going to get something, but didn't. Another thing we are used to but they didn't have was music during public skate. but that's ok. We'll be going back for sure. Please don't go so we can have the ice to ourselves still.
Small arena, with small gallery for viewing, but a fun venue. If you have the chance to come for a hockey game and have little kids, bring a sled. There's a fun hill right next door.
This was a decent rink. Especially for Utah. It's in a very nice area that appears to be developing quickly. It's easy to find. No concessions that I seen. There is a small proshop or skate rental counter. The arena itself was fairly cold, but nothing I haven't dealt with before in Minnesota. Ice is Olympic size. The entry area is kinda crowded and small. Seating is nice. Stadium style with plenty of room for standing and comfortable seats. Lots of bathrooms here.
