We tent camped in the cottonwood campground Host: Justin was great. When we arrived he was walking around and checking the sites for any fallen trees because there’s a storm that brought in 50mph winds. He also gave us an update on the weather and what t expect. Campground: Cottonwood was great. The best part was the vault toilets. They were clean and did not smell AT ALL. Shout out to the camp host. There are two toilets and one of them the door does not lock. Hopefully that’s fixed by the time you arrive. Sites are spaced out nicely. Camp site C016: Was perfect, with more than enough room for our 9x14 10 person tent. There was a trail that led straight to the river about 30 yards away. The site is close to the entrance of the park so you will hear vehicles coming in and out. It wasn’t bad at all just the occasional diesel trucks and loud exhaust. The flagpole that’s located by the guard station did make a loud metal on metal tapping sound but didn’t bother us much. Overall experience: It was great experience, aside from the storm that rolled through(not the parks fault) if tent camping is your jam, stop worrying and book this place. Blessed travels my friend.
We were here on the 1st of April. As expected the water was off and the bathrooms closed and it was still chilly. But it was peaceful and beautiful. The fishing was pretty good. We liked it enough that we are planning on coming when the weather is a little warmer and bring our boat.
We had a blast! Chandra and her family were great hosts! The campsite are super nice...each site has a charcoal grill and a fire pit. Picnic tables with pavilions and well water pumps are also at each site. We are right on the water, which is absolutely lovely. There are hiking trails and places to put your "overflow", we brought up our wave runners and had a wonderful time. There are also clean flush toilet restrooms and clean showers. We will be back!
Rockport is one of our favorite lakes in Utah! We especially love the sandy beaches on the northwest side! We’ve been here at least five times now, in a tent, cabin, and trailer. Every campground is great in its own way. Photos range from 2017-2025.
I could live at Rockport! Its beautiful, big, and so much fun. From digging in the sand to being on the water, it offers everything. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and we were even lucky enough to find a table, close to the water on 4th of July weekend, there were a few more available as well! No camping, but that's also the consequence of last minute planning 🤭 The park itself is beautiful too and it has many trails to explore! 10/10
