Mountainland Technical College
Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) serves over 4,500 students throughout Summit, Utah, and Wasatch counties. Our mission is to enhance the employability ofindividuals through market-driven career and technical education, through the five core areas of:program development, student achievement, faculty and staff support, physical resources, andcommunity outreach.This is accomplished through competency-based education and training programs, which may be longterm, short term, apprenticeship, or custom designed for individual employer needs. Many of theprograms are offered in an open-entry, open-exit format providing flexibility for students and employersat low-cost tuition for adults and no-cost tuition for high school students.Students are assisted in acquiring the basic skills necessary to succeed in these technical trainingprograms. MTECH prepares students to enter, re-enter, upgrade, or advance in the workplace, whichcontributes to the economic development, and improves the quality of life for Mountainland Regioncitizens.

My daughter applied through her high school counselors office to the program for her senior year of high school for the summer session. She can't go during the actual school year because she has actual high school classes she has to take to graduate. They said she could go during the summer instead. She was accepted into the program. Then she was turned away when we went to pay her fees because she doesn't turn 17 until one week after the start date. Um....did they not look at her birthdate when they accepted her into the program? Do they realize that this weird rule they have will exclude probably half of their students from high schools? Why do they even work with the high schools then if they have this super exclusionary rule? Now I have a heartbroken daughter and no way to pay for it after she graduates. Their own website says they have to be 16. She will be 17 and a senior. Too bad for her she was born a week too late. They claim there is no way to appeal it either. I'll never send any of my other kids to Mtech. What a joke!
Did not have a good experience at the Lehi location. I was part of the surgical tech program and the percentage of the completion rate is misrepresented as I was not someone that completed the course. Teachers had obvious favorites that they would give opportunities over their non-favorites. Not a good learning environment. I recommend that people do not take part in this program when they tell me they are looking to pursue their certification.
I received my technical certificate here 2010-2012. Should have left a review a long time ago. Having said that I highly recommend the HVAC program or any program that you can put yourself through here. The training is top notch. Couldn’t recommend these trade programs enough
The MTECH nursing program (LPN) is so great! I loved every bit of my time here as a student and regularly recommend this program as a great way to get a quick and affordable start to your nursing career. In fact I loved it so much I have decided to come back as an instructor.
The building itself, is actually very nice. Everything looks clean and is pleasing to the eye. If even the bathrooms are clean that is a good sign. The food is also really good, and cheap enough to buy. The teachers are cool too. However it could just be me, but sometimes the speakers on the computers don't work too well. By that I mean they just don't let me adjust the volume.
