Summit County Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is an international, evidence-based program supporting adults with mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorder, PTSD and other clinical diagnoses. The Clubhouse is not a treatment center. Our services complement and reinforce the therapeutic treatment members receive from mental health providers and can serve as a critical stop-gap for those not yet undergoing treatment for their illness. The basis of Summit County Clubhouse is our uniquely supportive and collaborative Clubhouse setting, where members rebuild their self-respect, dignity, and abilities through education, productive work, and meaningful relationships. In treatment settings, adults with mental illness are labeled "client" and considered "disabled". Summit County Clubhouse turns this all around. Here, members and staff work side by side as partners, operating all aspects of the organization in a team approach based on mutual respect. In this way, a person who has struggled with mental health becomes a valued participant, a colleague, and a critical part of the Clubhouse community. And it's working! SCC members report reduced hospitalization and incarceration rates, fewer symptoms of illness and isolation, higher employment rates and a strong sense of community. Since 2019, Summit County Clubhouse has been proving that people with a diagnosed mental illness can lead normal, productive lives when treated with respect, dignity, compassion and understanding.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah

We know mentorship sounds HUGE, but the truth is... It Takes Little to be Big . 1-in-3 kids in the US are growing up without a mentor. Mentorship is one of the most powerful tools to bridge the gap between people and possibility. When you give a little time, a listening ear, a word of advice, you help ensure that every child receives the support and resources they need to thrive. Become a BIG (Mentor) You don't need to have a specific title, degree or special qualifications. You don't have to be perfect, only present for a minimum commitment of one year. The BIG Difference You can Make For more than 40 years, we've have been bringing mentors (Bigs) into the lives of children (Littles) ages 6-18 facing multiple risk factors. Bigs and Littles meet in the community, at a school, or at a workplace; they usually see each other two or three times per month. The Big and Little as a "mentoring match" form a friendship, work towards goals, and teach each other all kinds of things! And all along the way BBBSU staff are in regular contact offering training and support. Our one-to-one mentoring programs lead to important outcomes for BBBSU Littles in four key areas: Encouraging Educational Achievement - 95% of Littles graduated high school (2020-2022). Supporting Emotional Well-Being - 92% of Littles reported on-going or improved emotional regulation abilities (2020-2022). Building Life Skills - 83% of Littles improved or maintained their goal-setting skills (2020-2022). Promoting Positive Choices - 98% of Littles avoided substance use (2020-2022). Choose a Mentoring Program For as little as four hours a month you could make a BIG difference. Choose one of our three mentoring programs: Community-Based We match volunteers (adults at least 18+) with kids in the community who may be facing challenging circumstances. These kids can greatly benefit from a positive and supportive mentor in their life. Once "Matched," we ask that you meet 2-4 times a month. Activities can be a wide variety of things, but we encourage low-or-no cost, one-to-one activities that support positive outcomes for your Little (mentee). The minimum volunteer commitment is one year. As with all programs Bigs, Littles and parents/guardians receive on-going support from our staff to help along the way Mentor2.0 High School-Based - Technology Assisted Mentoring We match students in our partner high schools with a mentor – a personal champion to help them on their journey into adulthood. Help a student create a path to their future college and/or career. Mentors must have a college degree, or equivalent professional or military experience (Mentor2.0 opportunities available in Salt Lake & Weber County). Elementary School- Based In our site-based mentoring program, we match elementary school students in our partner schools with mentors (aged 14+) mentoring matches meet weekly for 60 to 90 minutes at our partner elementary schools in the afternoon (typically 3:30-4:30 PM) on a designated weekday. BBBSU staff are present to facilitate the programming and support the matches. Although the mentoring matches meet only during the academic year, we ask for a minimum 12-month program commitment from the Big (mentor) and the Little (mentee). As in all programs, mentoring is focused on youth development goals for the Little to optimize positive outcomes from the program. (Site-Based Mentoring opportunities available in Salt Lake, Davis (Centerville only), Summit and Washington County). Become a BIG – 6 Steps Step 1 – Online Orientation Step 2 – Application Step 3 –

The Chiropractic Collective

Dr. Christine Phillips has been a trusted and beloved chiropractor in Park City, UT, for nearly 30 years. Her journey took a meaningful turn in 1997 when she met an eight-month-old baby struggling with chronic ear infections—a baby who would one day become her future business partner, Dr. Rachael Santa Maria. At the time, Dr. Phillips was a newer chiropractor in the small mountain town, quickly becoming known as the community's "pregnant mama doctor" and "baby doctor." Her gentle, skillful care helped little Rachael heal, and from that moment, their families formed a lifelong bond. Rachael became part of the family, nannying Dr. Phillips children and growing alongside them. Fast forward 26 years: Dr. Rachael Santa Maria—now a sports rehabilitation–focused chiropractor at age 28—has joined forces with Dr. Phillips to open The Chiropractic Collective. Together, they are blending experience and fresh perspective under the shared mantra: "WE are HEALTH Care!" Their mission is simple and powerful: to help patients reach lasting wellness and optimal performance through health education, functional mobility, and expert chiropractic alignment. With a story as unique as theirs, Dr. Phillips and Dr. Santa Maria are dedicated to serving their mountain town community—whether you're an expecting mother, a child or infant needing gentle care, or an athlete preparing for ski season and seeking a rehabilitation-focused approach, The Chiropractic Collective is here for you. St. Mary's Catholic Church

St. Mary's Parish was Established in 1881. A small wood framed church was built at the top of Park Ave. The Church burned to the ground a year later. A new church was begun and completed in 1884, this one of stone. It became home to the miner's of Parley's Park as Park City was originally known. For the miners, its prominence at the top of Park Avenue became the last bit of home they would see as they climbed to the mine entrances and descended into the earth. It was the beacon that drew them home at the end of a long day. And in times of disaster it was the gathering place for countless worried wives and families. In the early 1900's an adjacent building of stone was constructed as a school, taught by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. The school was closed during the Depression when the mines were closing and the town population waned. The parish however remained open. In the 1950's fire again struck the church. This time destroying the roof and much of the interior. The town was again in depression, the mines largely closed and the population small. It seemed the will of the bishop that the parish be closed. But strong defenders of the parish rallied, the structure was sound and the roof could be rebuilt if the bishop would permit it. The parishioners agreed that if the bishop would allow the parish to continue, they would never be a burden to him. The bishop agreed, the church was restored, the parish continued through despite the continued waning of the mining industry. In the 1960's the advent of the ski industry revitalized the town. By the end of the century the parish had grown so large, the tourists and visitors to the town had so increased that the little church could no longer serve. Yet after the construction of the new church, the Old Town Chapel continues. It remains ever open, it is home to the daily Mass of our community, and continues to serve the Old Town community. It is a precious reminder of our roots and a landmark for our town.
