It's tough that this is the only game in town. We routinely wait over 60 minutes past my appointment start time. After the Dr. has seen you, god help you if you need vaccines because that will be another +20 min wait. Especially when you have a sick child/infant, that type of delay really is excruciating and no one there comments on it or realizes that it's a problem (or maybe they just don't care). The front desk is disorganized. I called and emailed to get vaccination records for kindergarten registration, and nothing. I finally had to go in person to get the records. Lastly, i came in for a wellness check for my infant, and he had lost weight. The provider shrugged and said it was probably a measurement error. OK.... well then let's re-weigh him? Like how is that an acceptable answer to have the main health input for an infant be shrugged off as "probably we messed up weighing him". We came in once for an ear infection and the provider looked in the ears and said "I can't tell". Like, ok glad we waited 1.5 hours for that?? As soon as a decent pediatrician reopens in Park City, I will switch. Avoid if you can.
I love this practice and Dr. Wake! I have never felt more listened to and all my concerns validated. I think it takes a special person to remember little facts about me and my kids and ask me about them the next visit. It makes it feel like a friendship as well as a doctor patient relationship. I have always been able to get in same day or have my medical questions answered. Could not be happier with my kids here.
I am very unhappy with this office. We have been going here for 5 years and I loved our doctor she moved on and we now see Dr Wake, which I will make perfectly clear is excellent! We love her! But every other we have seen there and the medical assistant make me feel like I am not taken seriously. This week we ended up in the ER twice because the doctors here didn’t care to listen to me. We were seen Wednesday and the symptoms came back worse so I called Wednesday after my appointment concerned, the assistant that answered said ‘the doctor told you they would be back, you didn’t think they would?’ That was unprofessional. It made me feel like my concern wasn’t worth the office's time. So I ended up back in the hospital because this office doesn’t care about my child.
Where to begin, we went there for testing for my daughter and we were told that all the labs go to Intermountain. After about 2 weeks surprise, we get a bill from another lab. When I called in the morning I was told again in the phone that all labs are sent to Intermountain. I called the insurance and they said that we need to talk to the pediatrician. He contacted this office and added me also. Aubrey picked up and changed the whole story with the fact that they are not sending labs to Intermountain…they are actually sending it to Rocky Mountain. She then told me that it’s my responsibility to call the insurance to ask if they are in network and I get that…but if you don’t tell us that we are using this specific lab how should I know if they are in network or not. So the previous pediatrician was sending everything to in network but you guys cannot? She then proceeded to being very disrespectful towards me. Her last line was you’re stuck with the bill, not our problem. Thanks for the $1000 bill for a freaking lab.
I called the clinic to ask why my daughter’s asthma medication was denied, and I was told it was because she needs to be seen again since it’s been a year. I explained that my daughter is struggling to breathe without her medication, and that I would be happy to schedule the appointment, but asked if they could approve it in the meantime. The nurse I spoke with was extremely rude, constantly talking over me, and simply said no. There was no compassion or understanding of how serious asthma can be, especially for a child. I left the call feeling dismissed and unheard. A little empathy and effort to help would have gone a long way. If this is how they treat concerned parents of children with chronic conditions, they should really reconsider who they have working as a nurse.
