I feel Dr. Singer was very knowledgeable regarding my medical issue. The office staff was very cordial. My only complaint is that I must wait 5 weeks to have my procedure done. I have great Insurance. Meanwhile I continue with the issue at hand.
DO NOT go to this practice if you have any needs that surpass your annual check. If you need to speak to Dr. Singer with follow up questions after your appointment, you will not be able to unless it goes through your insurance. That’s absurd. I have never been a patient at a practice where I couldn’t speak to my doctor without an appointment. I am also an RN with experience working at several prominent private practices in NYC and Houston, and I have never worked at a practice where the patients were prohibited from speaking to their doctor without an appointment. Instead, Dr. Singer will have you speak to her medical assistant, Diana, who has little to no medical knowledge and is both rude and condescending. As for my own experience, I had bloodwork drawn for both Dr. Singer and my dermatologist. A few of my labs came back abnormal from both sets of labs ordered. When I called to discuss the results with Dr. Singer the medical assistant stated that “Dr. Singer said everything is normal.” When I questioned how that could be considering the lab itself is not within normal range, her answer was again, “Dr. Singer says it’s normal.” I asked if I could speak to Dr. Singer since the lab result itself reads that it’s out of range so I don’t understand how that could be normal. Again, she flatly said, “well, that’s what Dr. Singer said. They are normal” and I would need to make an appointment if I want to discuss with Dr. Singer further. (Of note, my dermatologist was happy to discuss my labs over the phone, which took all of 10 minutes.) I reluctantly decided to make an appointment hoping to get answers and peace of mind. The day of my appointment, I discussed my labs with Dr. Singer and told her about the labs my dermatologist drew including which ones were out of range. She couldn’t see them in her EMR system so she said she would have her office call over there to get them and follow up with me after reviewing. She stated she would either send me to have additional labs drawn at that time or she would make an appropriate referral to a specialist. Fast forward to the week after my appointment and I haven’t heard anything from Dr. Singer. I called Dr. Singers office, left a message, and received a call back 2 days later from the medical assistant who tells me again my labs are normal. I question her—how could they be normal when I know there were labs out of normal range? She again tells me they were normal. I’m frustrated now because clearly she’s either incompetent, careless, or ill informed and she arguing with me that the labs are normal. I come to find they never got my labs from my dermatologist, so she was telling me about the labs Dr. Singer had ordered. That’s scary. What if I was not a medical professional myself and therefore did not know to question further? Most people would say, “oh great! Everything’s normal,” and leave it at that. I could have cancer. I could have an auto immune disease. And you just told me everything is normal. That is borderline malpractice. I also came to find that Dr. Singer neglected to include anything in her visit note about obtaining labs from my dermatologist even though she took the doctors name from me, we discussed which labs were out of range, and it was the ENTIRE reason for my visit. Sadly, I now know she wasn’t even listening to me. After all this, STILL, I can’t speak to Dr. Singer without a phone appointment that will go through my insurance. The whole purpose of last weeks visit was to establish the next step in my plan of care. Dr. Singer specifically stated SHE would follow up with me after reviewing the results from my other doctor and that SHE would “either order additional labs or refer” me to an appropriate specialist. In the end, it was a complete waste of time and money. I got absolutely no questions answered and I will now pay a new doctor before I pay Dr. Singer another penny for something I already paid her for. I just pray my next doctor has more compassion for their patients and isn’t just hungry for another buck.
I've gone to Dr Singer for the last 4 years and I've always had a great experience. I find her style and manner to be refreshing. She's honest, she's no-nonsense, she gets things done. She's not going to sugar coat things, but that doesn't mean she doesn't care. I feel very confident in her care and respect of me as a patient. Her nurse, Katie, is also fantastic. I've had a lot of blood drawn in my life, and she's by far the best.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this office, the staff is incredibly friendly and really takes the time to get to know you. Most importantly there just isn’t better than Dr Singer. She takes the time with you to make sure all of your questions are answered and looks at your health as a whole. She goes out of her way to make you comfortable and is so thorough in her exams and tests I leave knowing my being fully cared for. She is so incredibly knowledgeable and looks deeper into your concerns to make sure you’re being treated properly. She made my first birth experience the best it could be, she is so calm, straight forward and encouraging while also reminding me I could do it. Like I said, I can’t recommend this office enough. No fuss, just great people, and exceptional care. If you want a well rounded, thorough team that makes you feel comfortable, cared for, and welcome- this is the place to be!
Dr. Singer saved my life. She palpated a breast mass and promptly ordered all of the tests to get an early stage breast cancer diagnosis. She followed me through all of my treatments and made sure that any of my side effects were addressed to make sure I would be comfortable. She continues to follow me very closely with routine bloodwork and examinations. I am so grateful she is such an astute and caring doctor.
