Had breakfast here during a recent stay. No complaints, solid fare and excellent outdoor seating areas. But low staffing levels were a challenge - after our meal we discovered the doors to the balcony had all been closed and locked, needed another patron from inside to come and let us back in!
This was our 4th year staying at this Hyatt and enjoying breakfasts and dinners at Escala. The food and the service and overall experience is always top notch! This year, they were able to accommodate a large party of 17 for dinner and it was seamless and so yummy! The kids all loved the s’mores after dinner. We can’t wait to come back next year!
I’ve been relocating from Los Angeles and staying at the hotel for a bit, so I’ve been slowly working my way through the menu — and honestly, everything has been excellent. The half chicken was the first dish I tried and it was perfect for the season; the smoky flavor was spot on. The menu has great variety too. The mushroom ramen with added chicken has become a go-to (I’ve now ordered it three more times). The burger is really good, and the scallops were delicious. They also have a fun fall-themed cocktail menu right now. I’ve only tried two drinks so far, but both were great and surprisingly reasonably priced. The old fashioned was solid as well. The ambience is warm and welcoming, especially with the big fire feature when you walk in — it really sets the tone. And the staff has been consistently wonderful. Evan at the bar is super friendly, and every server I’ve had has been extremely helpful. Overall, just a really enjoyable spot with consistently good food, drinks, and service.
Great breakfast at EPC. Not a lot open early on the mountain, so definitely recommend stopping in if you want a bite before noon. I ordered the Hawaiian Roll French Toast and the berry compote on top was delicious. Not pictured but also ordered was the berry sunrise smoothie, which was refreshing and tasty.
We stayed at hotel four nights and dined here every night for dinner and breakfast since I get free breakfast as Hyatt Globalist and the two other rooms we had were guests of honor so they got free breakfast. There was six of us total so we have a very good idea of the food here. I give the place overall 4 stars as the food is good, but not great and the menu could be better with more higher end selections and flavor of a Category 8 hotel. The folks serving us where all amazing from the friendly face at breakfast each morning to the same friendly place at dinner each night. My lady did think it took longer to serve us some nights but there was 6 of us except the last night and she says I'm the impatient one. The place has indoor seating and outdoor seating with a nice patio that we explored but never dined. There are lots of different drinks on the menu also. As mentioned in my hotel review, we pretty much had every dis on the menu. The first night, I had the half chicken and the breast meat was a bit dry so I gave it to my kid and she put it in her ramen. I also had the Waygu beef (it's American Waygu unfortunately so not as good as Japanese or Austrailian), it was bit overcooked but not to the point to send it back. Night three, I had the scallops and pasta which was clearly the best item on the menu and night four, I had the Ramen which was a nice try but needed some hot sauce (which I got) but I was mid as the kids say. Each morning, we had breakfast and the only thing I can complain about is the pork belly which didn't see to have much flavor and was dry at times. The lady from Romania (sorry, I forget her name) was there each morning and she was really nice and gave us great service each day...she was awesome. Not sure how to judge atmosphere each night and breakfast was pretty quiet so fine by me.
