Pretty Bird chef and founder Viet Pham is a national and global award-winning chef who has appeared on numerous cooking shows from various networks, including the Food Network, National Geographic Channel, and Hulu. Voted Best Fried Chicken in Utah by the Food Network, he and his wife Alexis have made a name for themselves through their Nashville-style hot chicken. Viet began his career in finance, but soon learned he preferred making people happy through good food and hospitality. He and Alexis opened Pretty Bird in Salt Lake City in 2018 and have since added three locations – Sugarhouse, Midvale, and Park City. Pretty Bird's mission is to provide guests with high-quality, consistent food that is made in-house while providing attentive service to every guest. Alexis says Pretty Bird presents a vision that can be tasted, heard, and felt. "The food we serve is uniquely different because we focus on fine dining principles and refinement, which we hope creates a superior product," Alexis states. I don’t think words can describe how amazing this place is! Literally one of the best chicken sandwich places we have been to! You can tell all the ingredients are fresh. Staff is friendly and made us feel like welcome! Highly recommend this place!
Fried chicken is an underestimated art. This one was perfect. Crispy, juicy, great job. Got the medium spice and it had a very nice kick. Ordered garlic nuggets and I will come back for the sandwich because it looked pretty insane. Side note: the fries were really good too. Not a comped review I’m just visiting for two days but what a little gem!
Had an excellent meal here. Chicken is excellently fried and spice levels are as advertised. The price is good value given the fact that it's in Park City. The manager, Justin, was doing a good job keeping everything moving during a busy period. My only suggestion might be that they could use one additional staff member to help clean tables and clear garbage. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
First off, the food was Great! Huge portions, full of flavor, and it arrived quickly. What really stood out to me, though, was the owner. I witnessed him handle a situation with a customer who couldn’t pay, and he treated them with genuine respect and kindness. All he asked in return good review. That moment spoke volumes about his character. The restaurant was clean, well-run, and welcoming, and the owner’s professionalism truly impressed me. Whether or not that customer leaves a great rating, I certainly will. I’ll definitely be back.
This place is all about fried chicken and they do it right. The chicken was super crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and clearly made fresh. The seasoning was on point, and the portions were generous for the price. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed, which made the experience even better. I told myself I would “just try a little”… and somehow ended up eating the whole thing without any regrets. That chicken had other plans for me 😅🍗 If you’re craving good fried chicken and a casual, enjoyable experience, this spot is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back (with more self-control… or maybe not).
