Dream it. It all begins with a little girl from the other side of the world. As we learned about her abilities, we soon realized her path was not going to be ordinary. Thinking ahead to life post high school, we wanted to provide a safe and meaningful center of employment for not only her but her peers. Many people with disabilities are seeking an opportunity to work, earn a wage and be a part of a greater community. Build it. Our unique community in Park City Utah provides us with resources to assist in supporting this workforce as well as a tourism, ski and hospitality industry to leverage. The initial employment opportunity is offering a range of gift bundles for sale. This workforce will design, develop, source, assemble and deliver these unique gift bundles. Grow it. As we fund the initial concept of employment, we plan to reinvest into the mission and create multiple opportunities of trade, vocation and service to the community. Employees will have the opportunity to expand their skill set and grow as individuals bringing their newly acquired skills to a new division of Maker Union or out into the world.

Minky Couture
Minky Couture started in 2009 when owner, Sandi Hendry's daughter became very ill and was hospitalized for several months. During this time, Sandi longed for a way to bring comfort to her daughter while in recovery. Her daughter asked for a "big baby blanket" to snuggle up with during this time. Sandi looked everywhere for a fashionable, cozy blanket but was unable to find one perfect for her daughter. It was at this time that Sandi created the first-ever Adult size Minky Couture blanket. This incredibly soft blanket was swooned over by those surrounding her daughter in recovery. Sandi created 2 more, 10 more, 100 more per requests – giving them to those in need and selling them out of her trunk to people longing for luxurious comfort. By 2015 there were five Minky Couture locations across the state of Utah and a thriving online store, all prepared to provide a product that is perfect for every reason in any season. As Minky Couture continues to grow and develop our brand of comfort and luxury, we strive to find opportunities to provide for those who struggle both physically and emotionally. We believe that comfort and luxury in the form of a warm blanket is both concretely warming while also metaphorically comforting.

The Dainty Pear
In 2014, Sarah began hand stamping jewelry in her kitchen. After years as a jewelry company, she transitioned The Dainty Pear (named for their only daughter at the time,) into a lifestyle brand where she could share her love of home, food, and worship, along with connecting with others the online on the topics of Anxiety, Postpartum Depression, and educating on the birth experience. After cooking in Instagram stories for years, she introduced a kitchen line of products and went all in on publishing her cookbooks. She has brought on team members in the past couple of years, and they all have been working on the incredibly exciting project of bringing a brick and mortar store to Midway, Utah- a charming Swiss town, located right outside of Park City. Our team is dedicated to bringing forth an experience, that feels like more than just a place to shop and "buy more things." We want everything you leave our shop with to enrich your life, to brighten yours or someone else's day, and for you to feel grounded as you stop to take in beauty, history, and the fulfillment that comes through connection and good food.
