Upgrade to a suite if you can. The standard double queen rooms are awful, but the one and two bedroom suites are really incredible. Restaurant was decent, service was OK. They will not clean your room unless you call and ask. I would not consider this a full service amenities resort, but the pool and gym/sauna are nice and it’s in a decent location. Not sure if I would stay again, but we had a fine 3 night stay!
This resort is so beautiful! We had my Sister’s wedding at this resort last week and absolutely loved it! The ballroom facilities and wedding event coordinator were amazing. The food at their restaurants was incredible. Their luxurious rooms, pool, hot tub, sauna, and game room were the perfect touch to unwind and relax after the wedding reception. I would highly recommend this resort to everyone I know 🩷👍🏼
We chose Black Rock Mountain Resort for a special anniversary stay and had high expectations, especially after recently staying at Waldorf Astoria Park City, where the service was absolutely top-notch. Unfortunately, our experience here has been disappointing from the moment we checked in. Customer satisfaction does not seem to be a priority. Despite informing beforehand that we were celebrating our anniversary and requesting an open view from our room within our booked room category, there was little to no effort made to accommodate us. We were initially assigned a room overlooking the road, parking area, and construction, and when we asked for an alternative, the alternative offered was even less desirable in terms of the view. As Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts guests, we are eligible for upgrades, but we didn’t even request one. All we asked for was a more desirable view within the category we had already booked, which felt like a very reasonable request given the occasion. To add to the disappointment, there was no bellman available at check-in, and we had to carry all of our luggage ourselves, something we did not expect at a property positioning itself as a luxury resort. The property itself has potential, but the service and overall guest experience fall far short. For a stay meant to celebrate something special, the lack of attentiveness and care was truly disappointing. I would not choose to celebrate another occasion here and would definitely not recommend it to others based on this experience. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously and works on improving both service standards and how guest requests are handled, especially for special occasions. I truly wish i had booked another place for celebrating our special day.
We have enjoyed coming back to this resort every year for the last 4 years right after President’s Day weekend. It is comfortable, clean, well decorated and furnished. The front staff has been super responsive and the amenities - gym, game room, sauna, steam room, pool and hot tub - are all top notch. It’s a quick drive to Deer Valley and Park City.
We own a townhome close to the resort…the staff are all very nice and super friendly / accommodating. The bar, front desk and restaurant staff are all top-notch. Given that everyone is generally responsive and friendly, I’m VERY much perplexed by the lack of responsiveness we’ve encountered trying to connect with the individual responsible for the gym. We were happy to pay extra (relative to other gyms in Park City) but it’s been impossible to connect with the appropriate people (front desk has been extremely pleasant to deal with); multiple calls, follow ups and emails. We have decided to go to another gym, and I really wouldn’t give BlackRock / Onyx any consideration - they don’t care about adding new members, why should you?
