Our stay at Goldener Hirsch was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the experience was impeccable, and every member of the team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The level of hospitality was truly outstanding and one of the main things that stood out most was how thoughtful and attentive the staff was. We also had the opportunity to participate in both the pretzel-making class and the botanical cocktail class, and they were highlights of our trip. The experiences were fun, unique, and incredibly well executed. While Park City is often associated with winter, visiting in the summer was absolutely beautiful. The scenery, activities, and overall atmosphere made for a great getaway. I truly can't recommend this property enough. If you're considering a trip to Park City, this is the place to stay.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay and were thoroughly impressed with the beautiful accommodations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed—everyone was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of counter space in the bathroom, making it easy for two people to get ready comfortably at the same time. Everything was impeccably clean, and we especially appreciated the nightly turndown service, which added a lovely touch to each evening. The rooftop pool is truly a highlight and not to be missed. The views are stunning, and the seating is both comfortable and inviting—perfect for relaxing. Our only suggestion would be to offer food and beverage service poolside, as it would enhance the experience to not have to leave in swimwear to grab refreshments. The location was ideal, and the shuttle service to nearby resorts and Main Street was incredibly convenient—always prompt and easy to use. We also highly recommend stopping by Kitz for coffee, pastries, and cookies—they were exceptional. We would absolutely stay here again and look forward to returning.
Excellent food and service. They know quality here. It is worth the price. Some places this close to the mountain are just pricey but not good. This restaurant is comfortable and has amazing food and service. We sat near the fireplace in these beautiful embroidered wrap around chairs that were extremely comfortable after a long day skiing. We had schnitzel and fondue. The fondue is unlike any that we have had before. It was really good, but had more wine maybe and good cheeses. The size of the fondue is large.
Goldener Hirsch (Auberge) in Deer Valley has an exceptional location and a warm, elevated vibe. Check-in was a great welcome: they had us sit in the lobby lounge by the fireplace, offered hot tea or water, and then completed check-in right there. The location is excellent and the ski access is very practical — you walk across a small alley and up a short set of stairs to the lifts. Ski rentals through the hotel were super easy, and Christy Sports is also basically a one-minute walk to the lifts. The 2nd-floor ski locker area plus Ski Butler / ski concierge setup is a great touch and makes mornings smoother. We stayed in a balcony room and it felt a bit small for two adults once you add luggage. The entry/bath area was a decent size, but the sleeping area itself was tight to navigate. That said, the beds were extremely comfortable and the thoughtful details were on point: turndown service, complimentary electrolyte packets, Nespresso, and Rishi tea. The 2nd-floor lounge was a highlight — cozy fireplace, great for evening cocktails, and it doubles as a place to sit and eat from The Kitz (their little alpine café). The Kitz was a solid casual option: granola/yogurt/fruit was good, great coffee options, the breakfast burrito was fine, grill cheese ok, charcuterie good, the pretzel was a fun treat. Afternoon cocoa in the lobby was lovely, and the evening s’mores upstairs were such a fun après detail. Food was a bit mixed overall. We had dinner at The Hirsch and tried the fondue — it was just okay. We also chatted with two other couples who felt the food there missed the mark as well (one specifically mentioned the avocado toast or tomato wasn’t fresh and the bread fell flat). Wellness-wise, the jacuzzi/hot tub was a great touch, the gym was excellent, and the dry sauna felt amazing after skiing. Most communication was through text concierge, which worked fine. Special shoutout to Lio — truly exceptional and somehow remembers everyone’s name (wildly impressive). We also loved the shuttle service — they’ll take you within a few miles and Park City Main Street is minutes away. We used it a lot: dinners in town and even ice skating at the base of Park City Mountain, which was a really fun experience. Bonus tip: right off the lift, Silver Lake Restaurant is a super convenient cafeteria spot with salads, soups, coffee, beer, pizza, fries, etc. Transportation tip: we used a large SUV from ProTrans Transportation round trip SLC ⇄ hotel (about a 45-minute drive) for 4 adults + skis + luggage — pricing was great and it made arrival/departure easy. Off-property dining was fantastic: Yuki Yama Sushi (short shuttle ride to Main Street) was outstanding, and we really enjoyed Riverhorse on Main as well — reservations needed for both, especially in ski season. Overall: unbeatable location, cozy lounge vibe, excellent service and amenities — with the main downside being room size/layout (in our category) and inconsistent food at The Hirsch.
I think it’s pretty easy to say that this was hands down the best hotel experience I have ever had. The room was beautiful, the location is great, but what sets this place apart is the incredible service. Warm and welcoming, the staff work incredibly hard to provide an excellent and stress free experience. I will 1000 percent recommend Goldenhersch to anyone coming to visit.
