I've been coming here for over 40 years and love it! Took the tram up and rode on the roof this time. The new tram and this feature is amazing. I've ridden it several times but being able to ride on top was a whole new perspective. Shout out to Janae on the tram. Very cool, laid-back and knowledgeable!
Went to chill and explore the buildings a bit, ended up riding the mountain coaster and the guys running it were so nice and let us ride it over and over again! We paid $40 for the ride, but since we got to ride it so much, felt like we got our money's worth. Everyone we encountered was very nice and fun to talk to. Will be coming back! Thank you for being chill if any of you employees are reading this!
This is definitely one of the top three ski resorts I've been to, up there with Alta and Mammoth. This is not an ideal resort for beginners as I learned the hard way. This was my first season skiing and my first time here I went up Gadzoom and Little Cloud chairs to the top of Little Cloud Bowl, what appeared to be all black diamonds. I was cliffed out and it took forever to get down, but I had too much pride to call ski patrol and get taken down in the basket like my friend did after having a panic attack here 30 minutes prior. I was amazed at how long it took in terms of time/distance/vertical drop to get to the base at the bottom of the mountain. The runs here are seriously long. A benefit of this resort over Alta is that they don't require a parking reservation on weekends, so I ended up going here one Saturday. The tram line was really long, but I managed to find the old mining tunnel to the backside of the mountain (Mineral Basin) I skied at the rest of the day, with no lines. Allowing snowboarders is more inclusive but makes this resort noticeably more crowded and congested than Alta, with longer lines. One day I was crossing between Mineral Basin and Alta, and realized the snow conditions were noticeably better at Alta, despite it just being on the other side of the ridge. The grooming and snow coverage here isn't nearly as good as Alta, though this was the worst snow year in 4+ decades, so I'd imagine it's typically much better. On the upside, Snowbird has a larger vertical drop and more skiable area than Alta.
Even on a day with pretty poor snow conditions, Snowbird ended up being unforgettable thanks to Deedee at the ticketing office. From the moment we walked up, she was an absolute gem – warm, friendly, and genuinely excited to help us make the most of our day. She turned what could have been a disappointing experience into a fantastic one just through her attitude, care, and great customer service. You can tell Snowbird prides itself on hiring awesome people, and Deedee is the perfect example of that. Because of her, we left with big smiles and can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Deedee, and thank you, Snowbird, for having such incredible staff!
I've been popping over to Snowbird last few years when Deer Valley is light on snow. Always a great experience. Hit timing just right this year for some powder so can't complain about the skiing. Will definitely Ski here a few days every year.
